The Danny Wessen Award is named after a ski team parent who was a tireless race worker and died of cancer at a young age. Selected by past recipients for the parent race worker who shows the tireless can-do effort to ensure that race day goes as smooth as possible.
This award is given annually to the Wildcat Mt. Ski Team Race Worker who has gone over and above the call of duty during the race season. A person who has worked from dawn to dusk, in icy cold wind, learned to ski with drills, shovels, gates and rakes, write with mittens on and slip a course while talking on a radio. A person who exemplifies the standards set by Danny Wesson.
