Program Director & Head Coach


Tom Flavin

Dave Magnone Program Director

Dave brings more than three decades of alpine racing and ski-industry experience to Wildcat Ski Team. A lifelong racer turned coach and mountain professional, he combines technical expertise, event management experience, and a coach-first mindset to build confident, fast, and resilient athletes. Dave believes great skiing grows from consistent fundamentals, clear feedback, and purposeful repetition. He emphasizes technical clarity, race-day preparation, and mental toughness while keeping training fun and athlete-centered. His approach balances individual development with team culture: push each athlete to their best while creating a supportive environment where teammates raise each other up.

Paul Stevens U12 Head Coach

Paul has been an avid skier for most of his life. Along with friends, he formed the first ski team for his high school. He skied recreationally throughout college and beyond. His coaching career began six years ago at Ragged Mountain when his children found the same love for the sport. As a full-time firefighter, spending time on the mountain with enthusiastic athletes and just having fun brings a nice change of pace. As a Level 100 Alpine Coach, Paul is excited to bring his knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm to the Wildcat Ski Team. Having recently moved to the Valley with his family, he is happy to continue coaching. He brings four rules out on the hill: Safety First, Always Have Fun, Ski Fast, and NO Sloppy Tucks!

Robbie Munce HS Training Head Coach

Rob grew up skiing and racing at The Balsams Wilderness resort in NH and continued racing for Berlin High School in Berlin, NH, and college club racing at Nichols College in Dudley, MA. Upon moving back to the North Country after graduation, he assisted with the Berlin High School race program for a couple of seasons until he and his wife, Holly, started their family. In 2015, Rob joined Gorham High School as an assistant to the long-tenured varsity coach and continues to oversee the Gorham HS Program. Additionally, Rob has restarted the Berlin High School program, which trains and travels with Gorham High School Alpine Athletes. When not on the hill, Rob is running Go Time Restrooms, his portable restroom company.

Sam Kehoe

Sam Kehoe U14 Program Coach

Sam grew up racing on the Wildcat Ski Team, starting as a U8. Sam qualified for multiple state championships over his ski racing career and served as team captain his senior year for his high school racing team. Sam is currently a student at UNH participating in club alpine ski racing. 

Tom Flavin Program Operations

Tom has spent most of his life in ski racing. He was instrumental in the development of the King Pine Racing program, where he served as the head coach and program director for 10 years. He has coached at Cranmore Mountain and for the Mount Washington Valley Ski Team, as well as being an active visiting coach for ski academy clinics. Tom has been coaching at Wildcat for nearly 20 years and was the head coach and program director for 10 of those years. He has advised the board and provided direction to the program throughout his years at Wildcat. Tom is a level 100 Alpine Coach and a level 200 Alpine Official.

MACKENZIE CHAMPNEY

Mackenzie Champney U10 Coach

Mackenzie is one of 4 siblings of alpine racers who raced with the Wildcat Ski Team for 9 seasons before taking on her role as a coach with the team. Her father is a member of the ski patrol at Wildcat, and her mother is also a former president of the ski team. Mackenzie continues to race at the HS alpine level for her hometown in NH. She consistently finishes in the top 5 and recently placed 4th in the NH State HS Championships, qualifying her to compete in the NHIAA Meet of Champions. Mackenzie has enjoyed coaching and witnessing the progression of our youngest athletes as she worked on the fundamentals to promote success on the snow in the U8 program.  She is eager to continue her mentorship with the group as they move up to the U10's .

Jackson Bartick U10 Coach

Jackson has a long history of competing in alpine skiing. He had his first experience with the Wildcat ski team when he was five, as a U8. Since then, he has gone through the Wildcat ski team program and competed for two years with the Mount Washington Valley ski team. As a second-year U14, Jackson competed in the Eastern Junior Skiing Championships, where he qualified for the CanAms. Jackson is a Slalom expert and is a welcome addition to our team of coaches.

Maddy Stevens U8 Coach

Maddy is a local resident of the MWV whose love of ski racing began as a U12 athlete. Now entering the season as a U19 racer, she will compete for Kennett High School while continuing to train with the MWV Ski Team. Maddy is especially excited to coach the Wildcat U8s, where she hopes to share her enthusiasm, experience, and genuine love for the sport. Her commitment and positive energy make her a great mentor for young athletes just beginning their ski racing journey.

Chanah Katz Assistant Coach

Chanah is from Intervale, NH, a graduate of Killington Mountain School, and currently in her Sophomore year at Montana State University, as well as a Wildcat Alum! She traveled across the US and Europe to train and race during her high school career, competing in both FIS and USSA events. She has a love for speed and is excited to be coming "home" to coach the next generation of Wildcat athletes during her winter break!

Lilah Fleischer Assistant Coach

Lilah is from Boston, MA, and is currently studying at Colorado College in Colorado Springs. She raced for Magic Mountain in Vermont, as well as the U14 and High School programs at Wildcat. This will be her 5th year working with the U8s and U10s at Wildcat, and she is extremely excited to return for another year of coaching!

Aisling Doyle Assistant Coach

Aisling started with the Wildcat Ski Team in 2020, joining their high school program. She was captain of the Hingham High School Ski Team her senior year and qualified for the MIAA State Championship in both her junior and senior years. Aisling began coaching with Wildcat in 2021, working primarily with the U8s and U10s. Now, Aisling is studying at Trinity College Dublin but spends her winter break back at Wildcat Mountain as an assistant coach.

Josh Helger

JOSH HELGER  FORMER PROGRAM DIRECTOR / U14 HEAD COACH

Josh began ski racing for the Mount Washington Valley Ski Team in 1994. After 4 years of racing, he began coaching full-time until 2002. He coached USSA and FIS-level athletes. During that time, he also coached many spring, summer, and fall Peak Performance Ski Camps at Copper Mountain in Colorado and Mount Hood in Oregon. After that, Josh continued coaching part-time until 2008. He returned to the MWV and joined the coaching staff at Wildcat in 2017. Josh is a Level 100 Alpine Coach and a Level 1 Alpine Referee.



Derek Pelletier

DEREK PELLETIER  FORMER PROGRAM DIRECTOR / U14 HEAD COACH

Derek served as President of the Wildcat Ski Team and is a member of the Board of Directors. Derek grew up skiing at Wildcat and racing on the Mount Washington Valley Ski Team.  Derek won the Massachusetts High School State Championship in 1995 and went on to ski on the Colby College carnival team. Derek is a Level 200 USSA Alpine coach and a Level 1 Technical Delegate Alpine Official and is currently the Eastern Division Representative to NHARA. 

Barry Fleisher

BARRY FLEISHER 

Barry has a long history in ski racing, both at the USSA and collegiate level, including being a member of the Johnson State (VT) carnival team.  Barry's passion for skiing has taken him all over the world, providing opportunities to ski in remote areas of the Adirondacks, Vermont, Austria, Alaska, and throughout the western United States and British Columbia. During his extensive backcountry ski career, Barry has also set aside plenty of time for race coaching at the youth level, including coaching for the Bear Town Race Team (NY) as well as Black Mountain (Head Coach).  This past season Barry was a u10 and U12 coach at Magic Mountain in Vermont.  Barry is a current coach with the MWV program.

Vaughn Harring

VAUGHN HARRING

Vaughn has coached youth racers for over 20 years.  He was a member of the St. Lawrence University ski team.  Vaughn began coaching shortly after college at Nashoba Valley in Westford Mass, near his home. He competed in the US Masters program for more than 20 years.  Vaughn has held various leadership roles on the ski team, including board member, vice president, and president. He is a certified Alpine Official (Referee) and holds USSA Level 100 coaching certification

 

Chris Johnson

CHRIS JOHNSON

CJ has coached youth racers for over 20 years. A four-year starter for the University of New Hampshire men’s alpine ski team and team captain his senior year, CJ helped to lead UNH to its best overall team finish at the NCAA Skiing Championships (7th place), which still holds today. Following college, CJ was a regular on the Master's circuit, racing for more than 15 years. During that time CJ won 4 Sise Cup Overall titles, 10 U.S. Master’s National Championship titles, and was twice named to the U.S. Alpine Masters Ski Team.  CJ has served as the BWL Divisional Chair, as well as various leadership roles on the ski team, including board member, vice president, and president

SAM MASON


Sam began his ski racing journey as a first-year U14 on the Wildcat Ski Team. Rising through the USSA ranks in high school, Sam captained the Holderness School Ski Team his senior year, showcasing leadership on and off the hill. He skied collegiately at Hobart and William Smith in upstate New York, where his slalom finishes on the men's team contributed to Hobart’s visit to the 2019 USCSA National Championship in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Sam went on to co-captain the Hobart and William Smith team his junior year, again finding himself in a leadership role where mentorship to first-year teammates and performance on the hill were key. Beyond coaching, Sam's commitment extends to ski safety and accessibility, where he amplifies the reach of nonprofits like the Kelly Brush Foundation and the World Cup Dreams Foundation via his Instagram page Slalom Tokyo Drift

Dave Warner

DAVE WARNER

Dave grew up skiing in New Hampshire, first in the Mount Washington Valley as a youth racer and later at the Holderness School on their Eastern/USSA/FIS Alpine Team, competing in Jr Olympic and National Jr events and becoming team Captain his senior year. He then headed west to attend the University of Denver and later Prescott College in Arizona. There, he continued skiing and developed as an avid backcountry skier throughout the Colorado and Arizona Mountains. Dave coached for the Bradford Ski Team in Massachusetts and the Attitash Race Team here in the valley.  Dave is a Level 200 USSA Alpine Coach.

Hank Nolan

KEVIN "HOLLYWOOD HANK" NOLAN

Hank grew up skiing on the Wildcat Ski Team.  He skied on the Mount Washington Valley Ski Team and was a captain of the Duxbury MA High School Ski Team and qualified for several State Championship Events.  Hank has a level 100 Alpine Coaching Certification. 

Jay Prewitt

JAY PREWITT

Jay grew up racing at Pats Peak and raced through high school, qualifying for multiple state championship events. Jay has over a decade of coaching experience with alpine athletes at all levels, including coaching at Waterville Valley, Gunstock, and Wildcat.  Jay is also a member of the Wildcat Ski Team Board of Directors. He is a level 100 USSA Alpine Coach and a level 100 Alpine Official.

Paul Klosterman

PAUL KLOSTERMAN

Paul has a highly decorated racing background, having raced at the USSA, FIS, and collegiate levels.  Paul grew up skiing in the Mount Washington Valley, including on the Wildcat Ski Team.  Paul later skied with Proctor Academy and the Mount Washington Valley Ski Team. He skied at the collegiate level on the Castleton University Ski Team for 4 seasons, including their national championship team in 2018. Paul raced on the FIS circuit with the MWV Ski Team and was named to the NHARA senior team and to the Eastern Championships Canada-America team.  Paul is a Level 100 Certified Alpine Coach.
